2) YOU MUST PREPARE FOR THE MARKET WITH MS SAEZ'S CLASS BY DOING THE FOLLOWING:
A) Choose what type of store you will be (you can’t choose the same store as another group) You can have an original store or idea. It doesn’t have to be from the stores we learned.
B) Decide what products you will sell. You must have enough products to sell to everyone (at least about 2 per person in class (THERE ARE 25 PEOPLE COUNTING MS SAEZ'S CLASS) not counting those in your group-that means about 50 items). The products can be fake or real. For example: You can sell pictures of items (from magazines, internet etc.), have pretend items (plastic food, empty boxes/containers of a product/Empty CD cases with pictures, empty DVD cases with pictures), or real items (food, candy, toys, pencils, drinks etc.). Be creative, think outside the box. Some creative stores in the past: photo booth/games/games of chance/etc
C) Make an original name and sign for your store. If you are a Frutería then your store name might be: La Frutería de Che, La Frutería Fantástica, La Frutería Mundial, La Frutería Taiwanesa, La Frutería de Los Locos etc etc… Decorate your sign to hang up at your store on the day of the market! Decide the language and story/fairy tale/fable you will make a video of: In groups of minimum 3 people, you are going to make a video where you are going to tell a story in your nativelanguage (if this is different from English and Chinese) or in Spanish. - The video-story should not last more than 4 minutes.
- It needs to include subtitles in English.
- It will need to be [[#|ready]] for Languages Week (first weekof February).
- You will need to use some time outside the classroom to prepare it (eg. lunch time or after school)
Suggestions:
- The story can be a popular one from the country or culture chosen.
- To tell a Fable would be quite suitable, as this is a short story and you can find the translation in English more easily.
- Be creative: use different voices, costumes, music, backgrounds etc.
